Fall winter collection 2010/2011
S+ARCK WITH BALLANTYNE. The elegance of intelligence. Also for next autumn-winter. With a new men’s and women’s collection that is once again shaped by the talent and intuition of Philippe Starck, that genius of design and contemporary architecture.

The S+ARCK WITH BALLANTYNE project is the result of a meeting between the famous designer and the consolidated experience of Ballantyne, an international brand that stands out for its refined cashmere knitwear, produced since 1921 using the most advanced and firmly established techniques.

The new collection includes 26 male garments and 35 female garments, which reaffirm the concept of the project: intelligent cashmere.
Versatile and multipurpose clothing. Innovative and ergonomic fits that satisfy the requirements and desires of modern daily life. Minimalist lines and small details that reveal a level of originality. Extremely modern garments, designed to last over time, with the emphasis on excellent quality. With clean and minimalist lines. A new technical feature for the season, the special heat sealed patches conceived by Philippe Starck, so stitching becomes totally invisible.

Colours
. Urban greys, blacks, blues and whites dominate. With a few hints of lime yellow, lilac and taupe for women.

Materials. Wide use of Wet-Out cashmere and Storm System fabric, advanced materials specifically fine tuned for the collection by Ballantyne.

The leitmotif. The orange cross, a key element in the Philippe Starck world, runs right through the collection. In the men’s knitwear it is hand made intarsia. In the men’s wear it is applied to cotton T-shirts and coats through a polyurethane film, such as the bomber jacket with pure cashmere lining.
In the women’s wear, the cross decorates knitwear clothing with intarsia of different counts that sit alongside cashmere and silk.

Key pieces
For the men, the versatile single and double-breasted cashmere coat. The menswear also includes denim and, among the accessories, the gloves modelled on the hand of Philippe Starck.
A much lighter collection for the women, with garments such as the cashmere overcoat with belt, and the cloak with graphic lines and special storm system treatment, completely reversible.
The cashmere jersey with removable sleeves applied using micro buttons, also becomes a top. The cashmere dress is integrated with high neck-hood.
The women’s range is complete with denim, harem trousers, and a cashmere miniskirt. The accessories include a multi-purpose cashmere tube scarf, to be used as a hood and shoulder warmer, as well as comfortable helmet cover.

The new S+ARCK WITH BALLANTYNE fall winter 2010/2011 collection will be officially presented on 17 January 2010 at 10 Corso Como in Milan with a celebration cocktail from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Guest star at the event, Philippe Starck.
